How to Prepare Your Gainesville Garage for Epoxy Installation
By Marcus Whitfield, Lead Installer Β· Published April 2, 2026

A clear pre-install checklist for Gainesville homeowners β what we handle, what you handle, and how to make install week go smoothly.
Two weeks before install
Empty the garage completely. We mean completely β every box, bin, bike, tool chest, refrigerator, freezer, and trash can needs to go. Most homeowners underestimate how full their garage is until install day approaches. If you have a covered patio or pod, start moving things now. If you need to rent a temporary storage unit, U-Haul has 5x10 units near Newberry Road for around $80/month. We can recommend a moving service if needed.
One week before install
Disconnect and move any built-in items: refrigerators, freezers, water heaters (if they live in the garage), workbenches, shelving. We need 100% clean concrete to grind. If you have a wall-mounted bike rack or pegboard, that can stay β we'll mask around it. Address any urgent garage door, window, or wall repairs now since access will be limited during install.
Three days before install
Confirm scheduling with us, double-check the install address, and make sure we have gate codes if you're in a gated community. Park vehicles in the driveway or street since the garage door will be closed during the dust-grinding phase. If you have pets, plan for them to be inside the house β diamond grinders are loud and we don't want a cat darting under a grinder.
Day of install (what to expect)
Our crew arrives between 7:30-8:00 AM in a wrapped work truck. We bring everything: grinders, dust extractors, materials, tools. We'll knock on your door to confirm and walk through any last details. Day one is grind day β expect 4-6 hours of loud noise from the grinder (dust-controlled with HEPA extractors). Day two is basecoat and chips, day three is topcoat. You don't need to be home but we love when clients want to check progress.
After we're done
We'll walk you through the floor before we leave, hand you your warranty paperwork, and give you a maintenance card. Don't move anything onto the floor for 24 hours (walking is fine after 6 hours). Don't park cars on it for 48-72 hours. We'll text you a 1-week, 1-month, and 6-month check-in to make sure everything looks great. If you ever have a question or concern, you call us directly β not a national hotline.
